The rain held off Friday night for the District 14-6A showdown between Lake Travis and Westlake, but once again the Cavaliers stormed to another victory against the Chaparrals.
Junior quarterback Charlie Brewer accounted for four touchdowns — three passing — as unbeaten Lake Travis recorded its eighth straight win over Westlake, winning 35-14 in a matchup of state-ranked teams.
“I don’t think this game was any more important than the last one or the next one for Charlie. We’re not into signature wins — this was a team win,” said Hank Carter, the Cavaliers’ head coach whose team is 8-0 overall, 6-0 in District 14-6A. “I love our quarterback and I love our team.”
