Game of the year?
It’s only the second week of the high school football season, but it will be hard to top a double-overtime victory by Lake Travis over Cibolo Steele. A 29-yard field goal by Cameron Dicker in the second overtime was the decisive score in the Cavaliers’ 59-56 triumph Friday night at Lenhoff Stadium.

Once it was finally finished, Lake Travis coach Hank Carter wrapped his arm around starting quarterback Charlie Brewer’s neck in a post-game huddle. Brewer, who suffered an injury late in the fourth quarter, was simply amazing, completing 25 of 33 passes for 400 yards and three touchdowns before he left the game after being gang-tackled with 3:24 to play.
